April 15 – The Cross and Hope
April 15: The Cross and Hope
Scripture:
“Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.”
—Hebrews 12:2 (NKJV)
Reflection:
The cross wasn’t the end—it was the doorway to glory. Jesus endured the suffering because of the joy that awaited Him: our salvation and the glory of resurrection. For us, the cross means that no matter how dark things seem, hope always has the final word.
Prayer:
Lord, thank You that the cross leads to hope. When I grow weary or discouraged, help me look to You and remember that joy is coming. Let the hope of the cross anchor my soul. Amen.
