March 31st – By His Stripes We Are healed
Daniel Erskine
By His Stripes We Are Healed
Scripture:
“But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed.”
— Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV)
Reflection:
This verse points directly to the sacrificial love of Jesus. The pain and suffering He endured on the cross was not only to forgive our sins, but also to bring us healing. “By His stripes”—the lashes He bore—we are offered wholeness.
This healing goes beyond the physical. It reaches into our deepest broken places—shame, anxiety, addiction, trauma—and offers restoration. Healing may not always come the way we expect, but it is always rooted in what Jesus already accomplished on the cross. When we draw near to Him, we draw near to the source of healing itself.
Prayer:
Jesus, thank You for bearing my pain, my sin, and my sickness on the cross. I believe that by Your stripes, I am healed—body, mind, and spirit. Help me walk in the fullness of that truth today. Strengthen my faith as I wait on You. Amen.
